Take your diving skills to the next level with the PADI Rescue Diver course at Divers Den Cairns. This exciting program combines knowledge, hands-on skill development, and real-world practice, giving you a complete diving experience.
The course unfolds in three sections. First, spend two days on land mastering rescue theory and practising in the pool. During these sessions, you’ll build essential skills, sharpen your problem-solving techniques, and gain confidence in handling dive emergencies.
If you don’t hold a valid First Aid (CPR) certificate, don’t worry! Your training begins with the PADI Emergency First Response (EFR) course on day one. Best of all, all course prices include First Aid training.
Next, you’ll move to practical application in open water. Choose a 2-day, 1-night trip (4-day course) or a 3-day, 2-night liveaboard (5-day course) aboard Ocean Quest. Here, you’ll practice real rescue scenarios under the guidance of your professional PADI instructor. At the same time, you’ll enjoy incredible dives on the Outer Great Barrier Reef.
By the end of the course, you’ll not only be a safer, more confident diver but also ready to assist others in emergencies. Plus, you’ll walk away with unforgettable memories of the reef and the skills to handle challenges underwater with ease.
Day 1:
Complimentary hotel transfer 9am pick up.
The first day will be spent in the classroom, if you do not have current CPR qualifications then the EFR course will be the first half of the day.
The afternoon is theory sessions for the PADI Rescue diver course. Finish 5pm.
Day 2:
Complimentary hotel transfer 9am pick up.
Morning – finishing off the theory and sitting the Final Exam
Around mid-morning we will start with the pool sessions.
In the afternoon we will continue to fine tune your rescue skills ready for the open water portion of the course.
Days 3 and 4:
The next 2 days will be on the Barrier Ref partaking in your Open Water sessions for the Rescue Course.
If you chose the 4 day Rescue course you will depart back to Cairns at 2.30 pm on Day 4.
Day 5:
Fun diving on Ocean Quest.
