Locally owned and in operation since 1986, Tusa Dive are specialists in day dive trips to the Great Barrier Reef. Departing daily from Cairns, the MV Tusa V is the newest edition to the company and is an ultra modern, custom built 24.5 metre ‘state-of-the-art’ dive vessel. Special features include hydraulically lowered water level platforms, huge dive deck, and internal and external lounge style seating throughout. Also has 2 x Fresh Water Showers 3 x Toilets!

Two spectacular dive sites will be visited, selected, as the day’s best from 21 moorings scattered across the 15 outer reef sites. Travel time to the outer reef and the day’s first location is approx 90 minutes. New sites daily can be enjoyed by divers joining Tusa for two or more days and special packages are available for divers travelling for a minimum three days.

Passenger numbers are limited to just 60 to ensure space, comfort and a feeling of exclusivity. Crew to passenger ratios average 1:6 to allow not only greater safety, but also a more personalized day with greater interaction.

Nearly 5 hours at the reef leaves plenty of time for both diving and snorkeling. A buffet style lunch is provided on board and there is plenty of time to relax and watch the video of the day’s diving.

There is a Photo Pro on board, and pro camera hire Digital photography presentation (free) as well as a Marine Interpretation presentation (free)

Certified divers are offered up to 3 dives in the day inclusive of all dive gear or tanks & weights only. Certified Divers can opt to join the guided dives to be shown the best of the Barrier Reef. Nitrox tanks and regulators are available for Nitrox certified divers.

The limited numbers and great outer reef sites make the Tusa Dive day tour a fabulous alternative for snorkeling. Adventurous snorkellers are free to explore on their own or join the guided snorkel tour at lunchtime. ‘Introductory Diving’ is also available for snorkellers, with option for 1,or 2 dives.

Itinerary

• 08:00am daily dept from Cairns
• 90 minute trip to outer reefs
• Approx 5 hours on the Outer Barrier Reef
• 2 unique outer reef sites in the day (3 dives)
• 4:00 - 4:30pm return to Cairns

• Transfers to and from hotel. $10 per person charge applies. Self check in at 0740 at Tusa 5 situated on E finger at the Pier, if self check in prefered.
