Instructor Preparatory Course ( IPC )

This short course is an optional, non-certification course unique to Aquapro. The IPC lasts for approximately five days and is designed to give potential IDC candidates low stress, experience in learning academic, confined and open water teaching techniques. The course utilizes many of the lectures from the IDC that can be credited towards your IDC, saving you valuable time.

We also include a skill circuit to develop your skills to an extremely high level. We also test you academic knowledge through Instructor level theory sessions.

The extra practice through repetition not only enhances the IDC., but vastly improves success rate through repitition and practice. Although this is an optional course, it is highly recommended.

Prerequisites:

1. PADI Divemaster or equivalent.
2. Minimum age 18.
3. Medical Certificate less than 12 months old stating you are fit to dive (preferably to Australian Standard 4005.1).
4. 60 logged dives including documented experience in night, deep and navigation.
5. Be certified for 6 months.

Upon Course Completion:

1. You must achieve at least 75% in each of the five theory exams.
2. Must be able to form each of the 20 Open Water Student Skills well enough to earn a score of at least 3 out of 5 for each skill.
3. Present 2 academic teaching presentations scoring 3.5 or higher on at least one.
4. Present 2 confined water presentations scoring 3.4 or higher on at least one.
5. Present 2 open water presentations scoring 3.5 or higher on at least one.

How to prepare for the course

1. Book early to avoid disappointment, and secure your place with a 10% deposit.
2. Obtain materials early, and begin self study
3. Ensure you meet all administrative requirements above
4. Practice your 800m snorkel
5. Practice you demonstration of skills from the Open Water Diver Course.
6. Study the Diving Knowledge Workbook
