Tully River - Full day

Just two hours South of Cairns, the Mighty Tully River winds its way through spectacular World Heritage listed rainforest, and is home to our full day rafting adventure.

RIVER GRADING SYSTEM

Grade 1 Simple easy rapids

Grade 2 Simple technical rapids with need to manoeuvre raft

Grade 3 Moderate rapids with need to hold on at times and maintain control of rafts (Barron River)

Grade 4 Moderate technical rapids - as for grade 3 with continuous need to manoeuvre rafts means exciting rafting (Tully River)

Grade 5 Heavy, difficult rapids. Very exciting rafting, essential to maintain control. Steep gradient

Go Xtreme Rafting!!!!!

Xtreme Rafting operates on the Tully River, specifically designed for those seeking small and intimate group sizes, and extra adventure!

Travelling with our senior guides, negotiate your way down the river with a small flotilla of rafts with time to experience body surfing, rock jumping and rapid swims.

Being the first to travel the river each day also gives us a much greater chance to see native wildlife. This allows you to really appreciate the beauty and diversity of the World Heritage Listed rainforest through which you are passing, and the eco-friendly nature of our trip means we take nothing but memories, and leave nothing but footprints.

Barron River - half day

Cairns is lucky enough to have the Barron River located just 20 minutes away, with our half day raft adventure leaving you plenty of time to enjoy other tours on the same day.

The Barron River has grade 3 rapids, which means they are perfect for first time rafters.

Please use this as a guide when choosing your level of adrenaline rush, but remember that experience is NOT necessary. In fact most of our clients have never been rafting before.

- Guaranteed water levels all year round
- "Rescue 3" trained guides
- All tuition - no experience necessary

WHAT TO BRING

Your ticket or voucher
Swimmers
Change of dry clothes
Sunscreen (but we don't recommend that you apply this to the back of your legs as it can make it more difficulte to hold on)
Lace up shoes or reef sandals to wear in the raft which WILL get we (or you can hire them for $4 per pair)
Money for souveniers and drinks
Remember that you won't be able to bring anything aboard the raft other than yourself, but items such as bags / towels / clothes etc. can be stored securely on your coach.

Your Raft and Safety

Each raft holds a maximum of seven passengers and one river guide, who will guide you safely down your river adventure. Infact every one of our guides in expertly trained by internationally renouned saftey company Rescue 3.

When you arrive at the river you will be fitted with a helmet and life jacket, allowing you to float along the river should you happen to fall out. Its so safe that you don't even have to be able to swim to enjoy rafting. Plus all of our rafts stay togeather, traversing the rapids in a carefully planned sequence with guides providing cover from the river banks.

Take Home Memories

At several rapids on your adventure, our professional photographers will be taking photographs .. so be sure to smile (or scream) for them. At the end of the day we return to the Cafe in Tully for a few well earned drinks, and you will have the option to purchase any of these great photos. These makes a unique gift to send home to family and friends, plus there are several other great gift ideas.
